, something that's been active over the past couple of weeks. we still have leslie, a tropical storm now, but very large storm system. in fact, the tropical storm force winds have extended out 200 miles just north of leslie. here we have hamilton in bermuda. this is going to be impacted by leslie throughout the day although the storm is likely to track off the east. you can see how they're getting a lot of the outer bands from the storm. also strong winds. winds reported up to 50 to 60 miles per hour possible today. leslie likely to track up north. maybe strengthening back into a hurricane as she continues north over the waters. as for hurricane michael, still a category two, likely to decrease strength as he stays out in the open atlantic. fortunately, we're not expecting any impact to the u.s. with these two storms. the one thing we have to watch for today is bermuda, as leslie passes by. all the clouds along the coast, the clearing out towards the west, this is going to be a very nice we wither this pattern coming in through the next couple days. right now high pressure is building in
. moving into the americas, then, we have been talking about tropical storm leslie. leslie made landfall newfoundland this morning and left the islands and the conditions are improving here but leslie will likely impact iceland with heavy rain and rough sea conditions late wednesday. as for north america, then, high pressure system is keeping things dry and settled across the east and we have a cold front here and it is not going to produce heavy rain, instead very windy conditions, so red flag warnings are posted in the northern rockies and the northern half of the plains today. out west monsoonal showers intensifying in the four corners region as well as southern nevada and northwestern mexico, so flash flood warnings are posted here and into the north wet and windy weather in central canada moving towards ontario. temperatures are as follows. denver a sharp drop in temperatures on wednesday, 20 degrees, that's about 15 degrees lower than tuesday and still on the hot side, though, in chicago 31 and 34 degrees in oklahoma city. finally let's go to europe. stormy, wet and windy condition
. tropical storm leslie has just passed by bermuda and will continue to cause high surf and rip tides. jim cantori is watching this storm from bermuda tonight. >> reporter: it has been a very rainy day. this area is about 12 inches down in rainfall. we just got word from the national security minister that he is giving bermuda the all-clear in terms of having no injuries and no major structural damage. leslie is still a big storm and will make its way to canada. this thing has about a 200-mile wide tropical storm windfield. even though it missed us by 140 miles we were still within 60 miles of the tropical storm force winds. the path takes it to the north and east and on tuesday it could still become a minimal hurricane. folks in st. johns will probably see watches and warnings come out later on this evening. here we are almost at the exact peak date of the atlantic hurricane season and we have leslie, michael and the next disturbance. some of the long range computer models don't take the next disturbance anywhere near land. we are only half way through the season. we will see what else mo

. this is what is left of tropical storm leslie. it is pounding nova scotia this morning. kind of interesting that it held its tropical characteristics that for north into the canadian maritime. leslie missed the east coast of the united states because of this big area of high pressure appeared ill will stick around for the next four or five days. the temperatures are very bottom-light -- autumn-like. first time we have seen 30's on the maps in some time. 45 in frederick and taneytown. 55 in catonsville. 61 downtown. we start to get the heat island of fact with temperatures can be degrees warmer in the city. a perfect autumn day. it should be nice out if you take the boat out. wave heights a foot or less. we will do it again tonight. clear, cool, temperatures in the upper 40's and low 50's. very little changed through the end of the week. we keep the sunshine thursday and friday. high temperatures in the low 80's. over the weekend, a chance for a storm on saturday and sunday. do not cancel any outdoor plans . >> elected the most dangerous celebrity names to search for on them. is the mostemma
is bracing for hurricane leslie. category 1 storm could pass the eye wland this weekend. and people are being told to prepare for the worst. it is already bringing dangerous swells an currents to coastal areas of the island and here in the united states, the east coast is not out of play either. so let's get right to alexandra steel. she is at cnn hurricane headquarters. what can you tell us? >> it's not as bad as it could be for bermuda. bermuda sees hurricanes about three every ten years and it's moving farther east than we'd seen it before. this is the atlantic. we do have two hurricanes at play. there's leslie. here is michael. this is a category 2, it is small, tight, powerful. 105-mile-an-hour winds. good news, won't affect anyone, won't affect land. so with that, our attention turns to leslie. now, right now it's category 1, maximum sustained winds at 75 miles an hour. what's happened is it has sat over the same space, kind of the cold water for the last 18 hours or so. so we have not seen any intensification. so that is the good news. here is the projected path. now, you can see here
. a little hair ball. let's start in the tropics. this is tropical leslie. i'm all right, really. this storm is almost a hurricane, sustained winds 70 miles. >> i can do weather. >> come on over here. >> i was ready to save you. >> i'm ok. leslie, sustained winds 70 miles per hour, almost a hurricane. it's going to miss puerto rico. but the computer models take it up towards the east coast of the united states. the model suggest not what we call in agreement. some are doing loopdy loops in the atlantic. some take the storm towards the new england coast so if you have travel plans in new england north of baltimore towards the tail end of next weekend, pay attention to what happens with leslie. we have the ghost of isaac coming across the southern part of illinois. it's lost tropical characteristics but you can see circulation of what was the storm with heavy rain ahead of it, showers and thunderstorms, virginia, back into ohio, same thing in indiana. eventually this will catch up to us. nothing showing up on the radar now except little showers in pennsylvania but this will probably cross over

with that hurricane leslie. leslie is now moving at the speed of 2 kilometers per hour, really snail pace. and that means it's going to be lingering here for quite awhile before it makes the closest approach to bermuda. so storm swells and rip currents at the dangerous level will continue into early next week. we'll keep a very close eye on this system. the wind gusts are already packing up to 146 kilometers per hour. oklahoma city, 37 degrees here in the americas, but cold front will be sweeping in so dropping those temperatures down. especially in denver. by tomorrow, it's going to be a dramatic, significant drop. plummeting about 10 degrees. so about low 20s is what you'll be seeing. drastic temperature changes are difficult for our bodies to cope with. so do be careful with that. but houston, i can't really say the same thing for you. you may see those temperatures rising to about 40 degrees into your weekend. all right. taking a look at what's going to be happening here in the european continent, things are finally going to be tapering off here in italy and in the balkans regions. ou

are tracking the tropics and we do have tropical storm leslie out there. those winds sustained at about 60 miles an hour. it's moving to the north, northwest at 7 miles an hour. and it's headed towards bermuda and will stay away from us. but going to the beaches in the next few days or so, be careful of high waves and rip currents. we will keep you updated on the information because leslie is forecasted to become a hurricane as we go through the next couple days as well. so we look at the satellite and radar, too and showing setup for today. -- showing the set upfor today, we have a station -- setup for today, we have a stationary front in virginia. remnants of isaac the counterclockwise spin will move off to the east. with the stationary front and isaac, that will give us the chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout today, next day and the through the week we will see clouds and scattered showers and storms off and on. it's not going to be an all day event. but we look at your future trend and the rain is around as we go through the morning. we get a little break but then it comes
